Frequently Asked Questions

Find Out More

How does this whole thing work?

We will start by asking you to help provide information about what you already know about your family tree, heritage and lineage. We will ask a number of questions that will help us to get started. If it makes sense to do so, we may even ask to connect with other relatives (who may know more). We will gather as much information as we need to get started, from there we will begin using other tools to conduct research.

We will research as far as the information accessible and the package you purchased allows us go.

At the conclusion of the project we will deliver a family tree and written report.

Are results guaranteed?

Short answer, no. However, we will use all tools at our disposal and will research as far as the information takes us, but sometimes records may not exist or may not be incorporated into these tools. We will let you know if and when we run into a dead-end

What if there is more to learn?

If we are in the midst of researching your heritage and ancestors and preparing your family tree and it looks like there is more to uncover (but that you may have purchased a smaller package than time allows), we will alert you promptly. It's up to you if you'd like to add to your package (for us to continue exploring and documenting), or if what we have uncovered is enough to meet your needs.

What services and sites do you use to research?

We use a number of ancestry and heritage research sites, periodical archives etc., including both free and paid services. You will never be asked by us to purchase access or a subscription to another service or site.

What happens if you hit a dead-end?

If our research takes us to a dead-end and you have purchased a larger package, we will return fees except for $100 to cover core services. We will still deliver what we can of your family tree, and a research document.

How long does this take?

The time to complete a project will depend on the level of package you purchased, as well as the amount of other projects we are working on at the time. We will be as up-front as possible in letting you know when we may be able to deliver results.

How do you take payment?

We take payment through PayPal, and we charge up-front prior to beginning a project.
